At Fourply, we believe in building more than just structures – we’re committed to supporting our communities and contributing to causes that align with our values.
So when The Friends of Glasgow Royal Infirmary invited us to get involved, it was a perfect fit with our ongoing project, The Apprentice and the Bee.
The Friends of GRI is a charitable organisation that celebrates the hospital’s remarkable legacy – from groundbreaking medical advances to pioneering surgical techniques.
They’ve opened a small museum on-site to share these incredible stories with visitors – and entry is free!
Just outside the museum, the charity has also created a stunning biodiversity garden, wildflower meadow and a medicinal herb garden – a peaceful space which highlights the importance of nature with medicine.
This is where our Apprentices came in.
As part of their hands-on learning and contribution to ‘The Apprentice and the Bee’, our Apprentices built and donated a custom bee hotel, designed to attract native solitary bee species and support local biodiversity right in the heart of Cathedral Square.
It’s a small structure with a big purpose – just like the work happening inside the GRI every day.
We’re proud to play our part in this inspiring project – where history, healing, nature, and craftsmanship come together.
