Episode 76
The Appprentice And The Bee
A Mast Year for Acorns – and Apprentices

Every few years, oak trees produce an exceptional abundance of acorns – a natural event known as a mast year. It’s nature’s way of securing the future: by producing more seeds than ever, the oak increases its chances of survival and renewal.

This year, we’ve noticed a bumper crop of acorns carpeting the woodland floor — a sign of strength, maturity and preparation for the seasons ahead.

At Fourply, we see a reflection of this in our own work. 2025 feels like our mast year – not for acorns, but for apprentices.

Just as the oak invests in its next generation, we’re investing in ours — nurturing new talent, passing on knowledge and ensuring that the craftsmanship rooted in our business continues to thrive for years to come.

Because whether you’re a tree or a building contractor, survival depends on growth, renewal and the strength of what’s coming next.
